Our distinguished speaker Dr. Amanda Dale, award-winning international human rights activist, scholar and consultant will tackle the hard questions about why some companies, intentionally or not, create organizational cultures of isolation for this group. She will share her lived experiences and recommendations on what can be done to promote cultures of inclusivity in the workplace.

International human rights scholar and activist

Dr. Amanda Dale is an international human rights scholar and activist, with a specialization in gender-based violence, LGBTQ rights, access to justice and international human rights.

Amanda has over 30 years’ experience working in municipal, provincial, national, international, multicultural, urban, and remote contexts. Her leadership was pivotal to the Jane Doe Audit of Toronto Police sexual assault investigations, challenging the destruction of the gun registry in Canada, the successful restriction of the use of religious arbitration in the settlement of family law matters in Ontario, the development of a women’s shelter in the Arctic, and the success of projects in Ghana and Sudan that resulted in increased women’s political participation.

Michel J. Arsenault has obtained his Master of Social Work from McGill University in Montreal and has worked in a clinical setting for over 30 years. His Master’s degree focused on Helping Gay Men Living with HIV/AIDS and worked as the HIV/AIDS Social Worker in Halifax. He has worked as a counsellor, trauma counsellor, trainer and manager within Employee Assistance Program industry. Currently, Michel is the Senior Clinical Director, Global Operations and Digital Clinical Services and is based in Toronto, ON.
